Magnify Talent was founded in 2020 by Paul Black after a 30-year career in engineering, strategy consulting, and the performing arts. Now, he brings his experience and expertise to a diverse range of clients: from multinational corporations to stealth mode start-ups, to private equity portfolio companies.

For the last 15 years, Black has specialized in executive coaching, team development and organizational effectiveness. As a Principal at Heidrick & Struggles (an international leadership consulting and executive search firm), and Head of Team Development at Philosophy IB (a boutique consultancy focused on strategy implementation and organizational effectiveness), he advised investors, Boards, senior leaders and teams in industries that include pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare, financial services, consumer packaged goods and engineering.

Black was formerly a management consultant at Bain & Company and a production engineer at Mobil Oil. He later embarked on a career as a professional actor and graduated with an MFA from Yale School of Drama. His acting work spanned major motion pictures, independent film, off-Broadway theater, regional US theater, international arts festivals, TV shows, commercials and voice-over artistry. He studied engineering at Nottingham University and is a member of the UK’s Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Black’s approach melds these experiences to bring a unique approach to developing the best talents in each individual.
